i’m getting ready for the next big foodies event and am suddenly a little scared. i came up with another cocktail idea which in my mind was right on. the name? tang coolie, of course! i tried to mix together the taste of my youth, the vodka laden college years and the new sophisticated texture of my thirties. what the hell does that mean? here’s what i came up with:

tang (6 ounces)
ketel one citroen (2 ounces)
seltzer (to top it off)
ice

what does it equal? a medium size glass of gross. tang is so dang sweet. and that vodka is lovely, but it still makes me shake my head after each sip. those were not the days. i’m thinking a nice modification might be mandarin orange seltzer, the citroen and a splash of tang for color.  i will experiment on the fly when my home is filled with people.

    There was one very bad night in college when I didn’t have access to orange juice and thus couldn’t make what was then my favorite drink, the screwdriver. So I used Orange Crush from the vending machine. The vodka was Smirnoff. It. Was. Horrid.
