quince

i picked up a quince on a recent trip to whole foods.  now i just need to figure out what the heck to do with it.  good thing i have so many cookbooks to search, and of course my new favorite book.

    Maybe you should use it to make a quince jam to put in between two layers of b-day cake!

    Vic and I planted a Quince tree next year. We see it as long term investment in which we hope that all the young, hot chefs of Seattle come to our house to pick Quinces and feed us delightful things.

    And then they’ll come back and gather medlars, a fruit I’ve never seen in a store (or tasted).

    I can’t wait till we get some!

    nice way to gather the hot chefs, knox! medlars? time to do a search to learn about those. but first i need to sort through the hundreds of soup swap photos.

    I second the quince jelly idea, it’s just delicious. Sadly, harder to find here than in my home country, Frenchland.
