at the co-op

i recently joined our local food co-op (well not the super local one a few blocks from home), but the other one that is already open…in albany, and i am really excited. i work once a week and spend that time chatting with people about food. awesome, right? totally.
i was so happy to spot this al baraki (a wonderful lebanese restaurant that started in troy, and moved to albany) falafel in the freezer section (this photo was taken on my own time). when i went back to make the purchase, they were gone! it’s so wonderful to see local and convenient products for sale. [don't worry, i won't utilize this blog as a way to highlight specials at the co-op.]
I have thought about a food co-op or CSA but haven’t gotten around to looking into one. I bet you get some great deals and yummy finds!
oh man nene, i’m totally drooling. that’s so awesome and i’m so happy for them that they’re doing so well.
I have been trying to find a co op around here. How did you find that one?
“the other one that is already open…in albany”
The links in the body of the story go to Honest Weight & Troy. Where is the new one in Albany?

haha, i dont mind if you do! {i love al baraki, and thanks to you now i know they’re selling some of their stuff there!)
I don’t mind if you become a corporate community owned grocery store shill! I need motivation to make the trip more often!
Oh well, corporate was supposed to be struck out! And I linked to the blog that I’m in the middle of killing, classic.
Do you have an international listing of independent local fod shops?
I found your food blog going through a few links. Glad I ran into it. Didn’t know that the food blog community was so big. I love your posts!
I was wondering if you would like to exchange links. I’ll drop yours on my site and you drop mine on yours. Email at ramendays@yahoo.com or stop by my site and drop a comment. Let me know if you would like to do a link exchange.
Cheers,
Caleb

Food co-ops rock, thanks for highlighting them
Sometimes they have the falafel in the case in the Deli as well. When they are not frozen they are much easier to munch on in the car on the way home.
I have been wanting to join a food co op. I wish there was one near me.
My husband loves those falafel things! They have them in the prepared foods sections too (near the sandwiches). Very good. I’ve been shopping at the co-op a lot lately, but have yet to join. i love it there though!
i am enjoying being a non-working member much better these days. i don’t know how people go to work all day, and then spend 3 hours working at the co-op. that is some pretty intense work!
i bet the deli case falafel tasted better than the frozen ones.
and now i’m hungry for falafel! we had beirut for dinner tonight, and i got the shish taouk.
